Kingsbury Scholarship

2009-2010 Donna Evans Kingsbury Scholarship for Women in the Humanities

Application Deadline: February 13, 2009
You may download the application (PDF), or you may pickup an application packet in Room 308 Bailey Hall.

The Donna Evans Kingsbury Scholarship provides in-state tuition funds to a woman student who fulfills the following criteria:

  • A major in one or more of the humanities fields listed below
  • A graduate of an accredited Kansas high school

Applications must include the following items:

  • 2009-2010 Kingsbury Scholarship application form
  • A one-page statement by the applicant describing "the value of the humanities" as a discipline
  • Verification of Kansas high school graduation
  • A KU transcript or ARTS form
  • Three letters of reference from KU faculty members accompanied by reference forms
  • A financial aid packet filed with the Office of Student Financial Aid prior to the application deadline

  • Classics
  • Communication Studies
  • East Asian Languages & Cultures
  • English
  • French & Italian
  • Theatre & Film
  • Slavic Languages & Literatures
  • Germanic Languages & Literatures
  • History
  • History of Art
  • Humanities & Western Civilization
  • Music History
  • Philosophy
  • Religious Studies
  • Spanish & Portuguese
  • Women's Studies

†NOTE: The Kingsbury Scholarship is valid for tuition only. Kingsbury funds may not be applied toward other expenses.


Past Kingsbury Scholarship Recipients
